Port
of Corpus Christi Cold Storage Adds New Repack Line
The
Port of Corpus Christi Cold Storage has an improved feature, a
new repack line. Already in the repacking business with pork bellies
and hams, the Port of Corpus Christi Cold Storage recently purchased
additional equipment including scales, auto dumper, pack off conveyor,
and full case conveyor in order to handle the current and expected
repacking business. The Port's new repack line is capable of boxing
approximately 120,000 lbs per day.
"
The Corpus Christi Cold Storage is becoming the warehouse of choice
because of its location, capabilities and features. The repack
line is another tool that our customers need. We are able to offer
this service in a timely and cost efficient manner," said
Chuck Margraf, Port of Corpus Christi Cold Storage Operations
Manager. "Our location to key markets, in particular Mexico
(only 150 miles to the US/ Mexican border), is an important factor
for the Mexican markets, especially with the pork repack projects."
The
Corpus Christi Cold Storage features 100,000 sq feet of chill
and frozen space complete with blast freeze capabilities, 11,000
pallet capacity, and enclosed temperature-controlled rail and
truck docks. Certifications include USDA approvals for export
and ID service, import inspection, and FSIS-USDA Poultry export
certification to Russia.
